As a High School teacher of English, History and Drama I have always encouraged creative expression as a means of communication. I had the opportunity to assist in starting a Schools program at the Byron Bay Writers Festival in 2000 and was a volunteer at the Festival for some years. During that time I was also a member of Bangalow Writers Group and had a story published in their anthology "Now and Then" in 2006.
Since moving to Queensland in 2007 I have volunteered with local Musical Theatre groups assisting in their productions. Completing a course based on Julia Cameron's "The Artists Way" fostered my passion for writing and I joined the Redcliffe Writers Group and then the Fellowship of Australian Writers here in Queensland.
My writing is focused on the experiences I have had and the knowledge I have gained from those experiences. My blog site called "Memories and Thoughts" is where I share the stories of my life in the spirit of Natalie Goldberg's leitmotif, "Writing is a path to meet ourselves".
